Washington, DC, – URAC’s Vice President for Quality, Research, and Measurement, Marybeth Farquhar, PhD, MSN, RN, has been selected to represent URAC on the National Quality Partners (NQP) Leadership Consortium in 2017.Kegley120128Farquhar0045ON.jpg

The Consortium consists of approximately 30 National Quality Forum (NQF) member organizations recognized as influencers and champions in health and healthcare quality.
The NQP Leadership Consortium’s primary role is to provide strategic direction across NQP initiatives, prioritize future topics for action, and offer feedback to NQP action teams. Consortium members have the opportunity to connect with other leaders in healthcare quality to identify priorities for action based on the current policy environment and a shared agenda for change grounded in the National Quality Strategy.

“It’s an honor to contribute and partner with other experts in the National Quality Partners Leadership Consortium,” said Farquhar. “More than ever before, it’s important for healthcare organizations to focus on quality care and best practices. I look forward to collaborating with my peers to identify our priorities for 2017 and beyond.”

In addition to providing strategic guidance on priorities for NQP Action Teams, the Leadership Consortium will collaborate to effect national change in areas of mutual interest through the unifying thread of quality measurement and improvement.  The committee’s slated to being work in February 2017.

Farquhar is responsible for URAC’s work regarding quality, measurement and research. Prior to her work with URAC, she served as NQF’s vice president of performance measurement. She also led key projects of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) team and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Quality Indicators Initiative.
